CasinoLuck Verification

Two documents, one working day, and one decision that costs people a week: leaving it until a withdrawal is already pending.

The five steps
Typically cleared in 1 working day
Usually just 2 documents
Required by UKGC 39483

Checked 24 Sep 2026 · Requirements read against the operator’s terms and UK licence conditions

Verification — KYC, if you have met the acronym — is the check that confirms you are a real adult living where you say you live, using money that belongs to you. Every casino licensed in Great Britain has to run it, CasinoLuck included, and since the rules tightened it happens before you can gamble rather than at your first cash-out.

In practice most UK players never upload anything. The operator runs an electronic check first, matching the name, date of birth and address you typed against credit-reference and electoral-roll data. When that comes back clean, verification is done and you never see it happen. Documents are the fallback, not the default.

You end up in the manual queue for boring reasons: you moved recently, you are on the roll under a different spelling, you live somewhere with high tenant turnover, or you typed a shortened first name. None of it says anything about you, and none of it is difficult to clear — provided you do it while nothing is riding on it.

That last point is the whole argument of this page. Verification takes about the same time whenever you do it. What changes is how it feels: a day’s wait on registration day is nothing, and the same day’s wait with a payout sitting in the queue behind it is the single most common complaint UK players make about this brand.

How to verify a CasinoLuck account

Five steps, roughly ten minutes of your time, and then it is done for the life of the account.

  1. 1

    Open the verification panel

Sign in, open the account menu and look for Verification, Documents or My Account. On a phone it usually sits behind the avatar icon rather than in the main navigation, which is why people assume it is missing.

Do this before your first deposit. Nothing about the process gets faster later, and everything about it gets more stressful once money is waiting on it.

  2. 2

Check your details before you upload anything

Your registered name, date of birth and address must match the document you are about to send, character for character. Fix the account details first if they do not — a mismatch fails the check no matter how good the photograph is.

Shortened first names are the single biggest cause of a failed automatic check. Dan is not Daniel to an electoral-roll match.

  3. 3

Photograph the ID flat and in colour

Passport photo page, or both sides of a UK photocard licence. All four corners inside the frame, no fingers over the text, no flash bouncing off the laminate, daylight rather than a desk lamp.

A cropped corner is rejected more often than a slightly soft image. Frame wide and let them zoom.

  4. 4

Add proof of address dated within three months

A bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill showing your name and the exact address on your account. Upload the full page, including the letterhead and the date — a cropped screenshot of just your name and address will bounce.

A mobile phone bill is normally refused. A mobile account follows the person, not the property, so it proves nothing about where you live.

  5. 5

Send everything in one submission and wait

Upload the whole set together rather than one document at a time. Most accounts clear within one working day; a manual review of a source-of-funds request takes longer because a person reads it.

Uploading piecemeal restarts the queue each time. One complete submission is genuinely faster than three partial ones.

What CasinoLuck accepts, and what it will not

Three categories. You will almost certainly only be asked for the first two.

Documents accepted and refused for CasinoLuck account verification
What it proves Accepted Refused, and why
Who you are Passport photo page · UK photocard driving licence · national identity card. In date, in colour, all four corners visible. Expired documents. Paper counterpart licences. Photocopies of photocopies. Anything with a corner cropped off.
Where you live Bank or building society statement · utility bill · council tax bill. Dated within the last three months, full page. Mobile phone bills, in most cases. Anything older than three months. Screenshots cropped to hide the date or the letterhead.
Where the money came from Payslips · bank statements showing income · evidence of a one-off sum such as a sale or an inheritance. Only requested for larger balances or a sudden change in pattern. Not part of a standard check and not a sign of suspicion.
One rule worth carrying to any casino: documents are only ever uploaded inside your account. Nobody legitimate will ask for your passport by email, WhatsApp or a chat app, and a message that does is a phishing attempt every single time. If you are unsure whether a request is genuine, ignore the message and open the site yourself.

Four reasons an upload comes back rejected

Between them these account for the overwhelming majority of second attempts.

The name does not match

A middle name on the passport that is missing from the account, a hyphenated surname typed with a space, or a shortened first name. Correct the account details rather than re-photographing the document — the picture was never the problem.

The photograph is cropped or glared

One corner outside the frame is an automatic refusal, because the reviewer cannot confirm the document is whole. Flash on a laminated licence washes out exactly the line they need. Daylight, flat surface, frame wide.

The address proof is out of date

Three months is the window, and people routinely send a bill they downloaded last year. Check the date on the document itself, not the date you downloaded it — they are frequently months apart.

You moved and only told the bank

The statement shows the new address, the casino account still holds the old one, and the two no longer agree. Update the account first and then upload, or the mismatch simply repeats.

Each rejection costs a full working day on the round trip, so two of them is most of a week. That is the real reason to get it right first time rather than any strictness on the operator’s part.

If verification has not cleared

In this order — the cheap checks first.

  1. 1.Read your own account details back against the document, character by character. This resolves more failed checks than every other step here combined, and it takes half a minute.
  2. 2.Look in your email, spam folder included. A specific request naming the missing document has usually been sent already and is sitting unread.
  3. 3.Ask live chat which document failed and why. They can normally name the field, even when the on-screen message is deliberately generic — and knowing it saves you guessing at a second upload.
  4. 4.Re-shoot rather than re-crop. Editing a rejected photo to fix a corner usually produces something that looks altered, which is worse than the original problem.
  5. 5.Ask for a timeframe in writing and keep the reply. If a payout is waiting behind the check, say so — it does not jump the queue, but it does get the case handled as one thing rather than two.
  6. 6.Unresolved after eight weeks? Take it to IBAS, the approved dispute body for this licence. It costs you nothing and the ruling binds the operator. Full escalation route on the contact page.

Four things people believe about KYC

“They only ask because I won”

The timing makes it look that way, but the causation runs backwards: requesting a withdrawal is what forces an outstanding check to complete. The same documents would have been required at some point whether you were up or down, and verifying on day one removes the coincidence entirely.

“Verification is optional if I keep stakes small”

It is not, and it has not been for years. Confirming age and identity before play is a condition of the GB licence rather than a threshold the operator chooses. Small stakes change nothing about whether the check happens.

“They keep my passport on file forever”

Under UK data protection rules the operator must tell you why a document is needed, store it securely and not keep it indefinitely. You are entitled to ask what is held and for how long, and to have it explained in plain terms rather than by reference to a policy number.

“A source-of-funds request means I am suspected of something”

It means a threshold or a change in pattern triggered an obligation the operator carries. Sending what is asked for straight away resolves it far quicker than arguing about whether the request was warranted — and the person reading it has no discretion to skip the step.

Verification: common questions

How long does CasinoLuck verification take?

Most accounts are confirmed electronically during registration, in seconds, with nothing to upload. Where documents are needed, a standard identity and address check normally clears within one working day. A source-of-funds review takes longer because a person reads it rather than a system.

What documents does CasinoLuck require?

Photo ID — a passport, UK photocard driving licence or national identity card — plus proof of address dated within the last three months, such as a bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill. Larger balances may additionally attract a source-of-funds request.

Do I have to verify before I can play?

Yes. UK rules require age and identity to be established before any gambling takes place, so there is no play-first window at any GB-licensed casino. In most cases the check runs invisibly and you will not notice it.

Why was my document rejected?

Usually a name that does not match the account, a corner cropped out of the frame, flash glare across a laminated licence, or an address proof older than three months. Fix the underlying mismatch rather than simply uploading the same photograph again.

Can I withdraw before verification is finished?

No. The payout queues behind the check rather than being cancelled by it, which is why finishing verification on day one is worth the ten minutes — the money then moves as soon as the request is approved.

Is it safe to send my ID to a casino?

To a UKGC-licensed operator, uploaded inside your own account, yes — it is a licence condition with data protection obligations attached. What is never safe is sending documents by email or a messaging app to someone who asked for them, however official the message looks.

Does verification have to be repeated?

Not routinely. It is normally a one-off for the life of the account, though a change of address, a long dormancy or a significant change in deposit pattern can trigger a fresh request.

Get it out of the way on day one

Ten minutes at registration, or a working day’s wait with your money already in the queue. It is the same check either way. 18+ — please set a deposit limit before your first session.
